David Mooney, founder of Evolve Electrical Contractors, began exploring solar and battery technology over 15 years ago, well ahead of the renewable energy curve. Spotting the need for a smarter, more professional and affordable approach to installation, David made it his mission to raise standards across the industry.

Today, Evolve is proudly MCS registered, delivering high-quality, compliant solar solutions that meet stringent UK requirements.

With 25 years of electrical contracting experience, David trained straight from school and launched Evolve in 2019. His credentials—including the JIB Gold Card and CITB Electrical Site Manager qualification—reflect his deep technical expertise and leadership.

David remains hands-on, regularly working alongside his team to ensure that service quality and customer satisfaction stay at the heart of the business.

He also invests in the next generation of electricians, partnering with Kirklees College’s apprenticeship scheme. His son, Logan, is one of five apprentices currently developing their skills within Evolve’s growing team.
